Welcoming Message

As the world's 13th largest economy and a member of the OECD, Korea has embraced its role as a donor country and has sought to provide more and better development assistance, commensurate with its economic standing and significance in global affairs. Building upon its own historical experience of overcoming poverty and attaining rapid economic growth, Korea will strive to expand its development cooperation and help meet international development objectives such as the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). To this end, the Korean government will continue to scale up our ODA, build our capacity as a donor, and expand our partnership for development. We will also seek to further enhance our development cooperation by joining the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) by 2010.
